Hello Green Drinkers, This month, on Tuesday 7th of September, Green Drinks will turn the spotlight on the world of fashion. Whatever you’re wearing, it has come through a complicated system to finally reach your wardrobe. Those jeans you love might be made of cotton picked in Africa, spun in India then made in China with a zip from Taiwan and labels from Europe. All through this system are examples of environmental, social and economic imbalance, meaning that at every stage people and the environment they inhabit are suffering. Kellie Dalton and the ReDress team will join Green Drinks to bring things back to basics. They’ll ask some probing question about the fashion industry and show how everyone can get involved to show the fashion industry that green really is the new black. This Green Drinks is all about activism and transformation, and we want everyone to arrive with something old and leave with something new. If you have some items of unwanted clothing, bring them along for a mini-clothes swap. Also if you have a tired old t-shirt and a pair of scissors, bring those too and Re-Dress will help you transform them into something fun. Get involved and everyone will arrive with something old and leave with something new!
