Hi all,
Ever wondered what happens to our waste after we throw it away? How much is being recycled compared to the amount incinerated or shipped to the developing world? What’s the scale of the problem and what can we do about it?
We’ve invited Robert O’Shea, Secretary of the Irish Waste Management Association (IWMA), to our next Green Drinks to shed some light on the issue. IWMA is the recognised national representative body for the private waste management industry in Ireland and is affiliated with both IBEC and the European waste industry body, FEAD. Mr O’Shea has worked in academia, local government and business representative organisations. He has been involved in environment policy formation through a number of external committees established by bodies such as the Department of the Environment, the Environmental Protection Agency and the European Commission.
