What is contained in the box I receive?
Your efergy pack includes:

How do I use the efergy meter?
Take the display unit from room to room and keep an eye on the monitor when different appliances turn on and off, check the consumption against the manufacturers specification, it may differ slightly and older machines are almost certain to use more. There will come a time when the appliance is using far more than it should and replacement should be considered.

Does the device need batteries?
Both the transmitter and receiver require 2 x AAA batteries. Batteries are not supplied with the efergy meter. We recommend using rechargeable batteries.

Do I need an electrician to install the efergy meter?
The sensors should easily clip directly on to the outside of your existing meter wiring. If you are in any doubt or concerned about the safety of your existing meter wiring, always consult an electrician before attempting to fit the efergy meter yourself.

Will the information be lost in the event of a power cut?
NO. The information will remain unless you reset the efergy meter.

Can I view data from months ago?
YES. The efergy meter will store up to the last 2 years information. It also stores last 7 days and last 4 weeks data so you can compare easily and in minutes your energy habits in the last days or weeks.

How sensitive is the efergy meter?
The efergy is sensitive enough to register electricity consumption of an energy saving bulb of 10W. Variations in mains voltages being supplied is the main factor in sensitivity of the meters.

What is the range of the display unit from the transmitter?
The wireless display has a range of 40-70m. While in open spaces the range will be longer, tests show distances up to 4^th floors between the transmitter and monitor to be fine.

Do I unplug it when I go on holiday?
You could do, but you may find it interesting to see the power you are using/wasting when the house is left unoccupied and theoretically when it should be using very little.

Does it work in the UK and Ireland?
YES, the Efergy meter works in both the UK and Ireland.

How much guarantee comes with the efergy meter?
Efergy limited warrants the efergy meter for the period of 1 year, from the date of delivery, to be free of defects in materials or workmanship.

I have just got a smart meter and am having problems with the LED backlight. Is it supposed to come on with key presses as sometimes it does and other times it does not? Is there any special button presses to put it on/off?
The monitor is programmed so the LED backlight comes on with a timer. The backlight works between the hours of 6pm and 6am.The idea was we wanted the backlight to work in darker environments.As this drains the power, restricting the times when the backlight lights comes on helps lower battery consumption.
